"So, what's your secret, to being the best songwriter in all of Erinn?"

"I think the correct way to say that is one of the well known songwriters. I don't believe that songs are better or worse than another."

The boy laughed. "I thought you might say that."
He sat in front of a man, with long brown hair that came down to his shoulders.

"Then, if there are no bad songs in this world.. hear mine out."

The man smiled. "But of course."


Three friends we were, with a great calling

The boy lay down his lute, and raised his blue eyes up to the man. "So, what do you think of this?"

The man fell silent.

"I thought there were no such thing as bad songs.." the boy muttered, smiling wryly.

".... it's not that it's bad... I would have to say it's incorrect."

"Really? Or is that what you want to believe?"

The two stood there silently, for a few moments. Then the boy spoke.
"I really have to be getting back now. The sun's coming up, and I want to ride the moongate back to Dunbarton."

He turned to leave.

".... it wasn't a bad song," muttered the man.

The boy looked back and grinned. "I didn't write it."

"I know." The man smiled sadly.
